Cliff Liang
| Vice President of Research Cliff Liang, vice president of Research, is responsible for managing advanced technology research, exploring new products and services, building and promoting technical career tracks for engineers, and supervising advanced research on performance acceleration hardware. Liang joined Trend Micro in 1990 as a software engineer working with Intel on LanProtect, the industry’s first file server antivirus protection product. In 1993, Liang was promoted to senior engineer and managed and built the Taiwan engineering team into multiple products teams. In 1995, Liang assumed the role of US engineering head. In 2002, Liang stepped into an architect role and was promoted to vice president of Architect in 2002. Liang joined the research team in 2003 and was appointed vice president of Research in 2007. Prior to Trend Micro, Liang was the engineering head at AsiaTek, Inc., a Taiwan-based UNIX software design company. Liang joined AsiaTek Inc. in 1986 as a software engineer working on the localized versions of the relational database management system. Prior to AsiaTek Inc., Liang served two years in the Taiwan Army. Liang holds a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from Tatung Institute of Technology in Taipei, Taiwan. |
