Raimund Genes, CTO Anti-Malware, has been with Trend Micro since 1996. As managing director, Genes successfully built up the German business unit in Munich, making it one of the most successful units within the company. In November 2000, he was promoted to the position of European vice president of sales and marketing and went on to become the president of European operations in the autumn of 2001. In March 2006 Genes was appointed CTO of Anti-Malware.

Genes has worked in the computer industry since 1978. He worked in the German airforce for 12 years in radar guidance and aircraft tracking before receiving a Master degree in Radar Guidance. Genes continued his education to become a Certified Network Engineer. In 1988, Genes started an IT company and in 1994 began reselling Trend Micro products. In 1995, due to his company’s performance, it became the exclusive German distributor for Trend Micro and was acquired by Trend Micro in October 1996. As a well-known IT expert, Genes has published many articles in security-related magazines.
