Executive General Manager, SMB Business Unit

Steve Quane, executive general manager of SMB Business Unit, is responsible for the business profitability, global operations and customer strategy for Trend Micro’s “Worry-Free” solutions, designed specifically to support and protect the smaller organization.

Quane has been with Trend Micro since 2001, first serving as global director of Product Marketing, during which time he was pivotal to the introduction of Trend Micro’s Enterprise Protection Strategy to a changing security marketplace. Quane was promoted to corporate vice president of Global Marketing and moved into his position of GM for Trend Micro’s small and medium business unit in 2005.

Prior to joining Trend Micro, Quane spent five years in product management and business development roles within Intel Corporation’s systems management, appliance and hosting divisions. Before joining high tech, Quane spent seven years in the United States Air Force as a Combat Communications Officer and Battle Director, serving tours of duty in the Bosnian Conflict, at NORAD Command Center, and with the U.S. Customs Agency.

Quane holds an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy.
