Trend Micro to Foster New Open Security Ecosystem

Trend Micro Broadens Partnering Opportunities with Expanded Programs for Technology, Platform, and Consulting Services Partners

Cupertino, CA – September 12, 2007 – Trend Micro Incorporated (TSE: 4704), a leader in network antivirus and Internet content security software and services, today announced major enhancements to its Alliance Partner Program designed to establish an open partner ecosystem.

The Trend Micro™ program for alliance partners has been expanded to provide an enhanced set of benefits and services that enable Trend Micro and its alliance partners to grow business together, create joint business solutions, and provide opportunities for joint marketing and collaboration that can help increase value to customers.

Fostering an Open Security Ecosystem

The expanded Trend Micro Alliance Partner Program provides a set of services tailored for Technology, Platform, and Consulting Services partners, complementing the Trend Micro programs for Channel Solution and Managed Service Providers, creating a comprehensive open business and technology ecosystem designed to rapidly develop and deliver joint customer solutions.

“As Trend Micro continues to grow and deliver market-leading content security solutions to our customers, we recognize the need to create a single, unified partner ecosystem for a broader range of business partners” said Trend Micro CEO, Eva Chen

New Business and Marketing and Opportunities

Through the expanded Trend Micro Alliance Partner Program partners gain access to business and marketing services that assist them in partnering with Trend Micro. As a Trend Micro partner, companies can participate in joint sales activities, marketing initiatives and solution development.

The new Trend Micro Alliance Partner Program recognizes three participation levels Strategic, Premier, and Associate. Partner membership is based on the level of commitment to Trend Micro, and achievements will be rewarded with a rich array of benefits.

Accelerating Technology Collaboration
Fostering an open ecosystem requires not only business but also technology collaboration. This includes leveraging open standards and open published application programming interfaces (APIs) for integration and interoperability.

Customers benefit from an open approach enabling them to tailor their security solutions to meet their specific needs. In addition, customers also benefit from Trend Micro technology qualification and certification initiatives to ensure interoperability and customer success when deploying Trend Micro and partner technologies together.

Through the Trend Micro Alliance Partner program, Trend Micro will provide partners with the tools and programs to enable integration and interoperability.  This includes early access to Trend Micro products, emerging technologies, Software Development ToolKits (SDKs), interoperability testing resources, training and more.

Ensuring Joint Customer Success
Key to successful partnerships is ensuring customer success with joint technologies and solutions. Trend Micro has joined the Technical Support Alliance Network (TSANet). TSANet, the industry’s largest vendor-neutral support alliance, provides a structure to allow the industry to collaborate when a multi-vendor, mutual customer problem exists.

Trend Micro has and made membership in TSANet a requirement for certain levels of Trend Micro Alliance Partner Program participation to facilitate quick resolution of joint partner and Trend Micro customer issues.

Program Membership and Availability
Participating partners include AMD, IBM, Sun, CrossBeam, Bizanga, NetApp, Hewlett Packard, EMC, Microdasys and more. A complete list of Trend Micro alliance partners can be found on the Trend Micro partner website: http://www.trendmicro.com/partners

Associate level membership will open in the second half of 20087.  The program is immediately available to North American based partners with intended rollout to other regions through the remainder of the calendar year.
