Message Archiver Server

Hardware

  • At least 1 Intel™ Pentium™ 4 3.0GHz processor or equivalent
  • At least 1GB RAM
  • At least 40GB of available disk space for system/application

Software

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003 with SP2 (Standard Edition or Enterprise Edition) (32-bit x86/x64)
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003 (R2 with SP2 Standard Edition or Enterprise Edition) (32-bit x86/x64)
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 (Standard Edition or Enterprise Edition) (32-bit x86/x64)
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Foundation (32-bit x86/x64)
  • Message Archiver 1.1 SP1 application, included in Message Archiver installer

Note: Install the Trend Micro Message Archiver server software on a dedicated Microsoft Windows Server 2003 machine and connect to the Microsoft Exchange server using the Trend Micro Message Archiver Exchange Connector. Installing the Trend Micro Message Archiver server software on the same machine as the Exchange server will impact the performance of the Exchange server. Also, installing Trend Micro Message Archiver onto an SBS server is not supported.


Mail Server Requirements

The following are supported mail servers for the Trend Micro Message Archiver Exchange Connector, including Message Stubbing and Message Import:
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003 (R2 with SP2 Standard Edition or Enterprise Edition)
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 with SP2
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 with SP1 (x64)
  • Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 (R2 with SP1 Standard Edition or Premium Edition)
  • Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2008 (Standard Edition or Premium Edition) (x64)
  • Microsoft Windows Essential Business Server 2008 (Standard Edition or Premium Edition) (x64)

Note: Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 (32-bit x86) is recommended by Microsoft only for testing purposes.


Client Requirements

The following operating systems are supported for Trend Micro Message Archiver clients:
  • Windows (32-bit x86/x64), XP SP2
  • Windows (32-bit x86/x64) Vista Home Basic Edition, Vista Home Premium Edition, or Vista Business Edition
The following email clients are supported for Trend Micro Message Archiver clients:
  • Microsoft Outlook 2003 (32-bit x86), 2007 (32-bit x86)
The following are the browser requirements for Trend Micro Message Archiver clients:
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0, 8.0
  • Mozilla Firefox 3.x
