  • In general, the policy consists of these key points: Trend Micro no longer sells a product two years from its release date. Registration also stops at this time.
  • Bug fixes for a product stops two years from its release date.
  • Trend Micro discontinues product support three years from its release date (or one year from the end-of-life date).
  • Knowledge base (KB) updates stop four years from the product release date (or two years from the end-of-life date).

Trend Micro Consumer Lifecycle Policy is a global policy. The dates listed here apply to all countries where these products are sold. It also applies to all seats of the license subscription.

What if my current version has reached the end-of-life date?
If you have an active subscription with a supported operating system, then you can always upgrade for free to the latest version of the product line. Also, Trend Micro will provide support to your current version until end of support date.

Where can I find out system requirement information for your latest versions?
You can find the system requirements for the latest version of Trend Micro AntiVirus plus AntiSpyware and Trend Micro Internet Security. Trend Micro Internet Security Pro in the respective product pages.

I’m using Microsoft Windows 95, 98 or ME, can I still do an upgrade?
Consistent with Microsoft’s official support policy on these products, these operating systems are not supported by our latest versions.

I use Trend Micro Anti-Spyware. Will there be a new version?
Trend Micro Anti-Spyware is being discontinued, and there will be no new version to the product.


Why are you discontinuing Trend Micro Anti-Spyware?
All the benefits of Trend Micro Anti-Spyware are now included in Trend Micro AntiVirus plus AntiSpyware. We’d like to offer customers protection against both viruses and spyware in one product, based on the award-winning PC-cillin engine.


Can I still receive help and support for a product that has reached its End of Support date?
After a product has reached its End of Support date, technical support requests can no longer be accepted for these products. However, Trend Micro will assist customers with a valid license on upgrading to the latest supported version of the software for the latest up-to-date protection.
