Spyware patterns

Trend Micro provides additional solution for scanning and cleaning systems affected by grayware.

The pattern file versions specified on the Grayware page refers to the lowest pattern versions that could detect or clean all known samples of the said grayware.

Scan Pattern (TMAPTN version)

The TMAPTN is the Trend Micro scan pattern for grayware.

When a grayware is reported, TrendLabs (Trend Micro's global network of antivirus research and product support centers) immediately updates the TMAPTN pattern, so as to include the signature of the said grayware. The spyware scan pattern and spyware scan engine work hand in hand to enable Trend Micro products to detect the latest known grayware.

Cleanup Template (TMADCE version)

The TMADCE is the automatic clean pattern of grayware. It also uses the Damage Cleanup Engine technology, which works hand in hand with TMADCE cleanup pattern so as to automatically clean affected systems.
